Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3: How to Get There (2026)

Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest travel hubs in Europe, and it recently grew again with the opening of its newest terminal. If your flight arrives at or departs from Terminal 3, it helps to know where it is and how to reach it before you travel. This 2026 guide explains what Terminal 3 is, which airlines are linked to it, and the easiest ways to get to and from it, so your journey stays simple and stress-free.

What and where is Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3?

Terminal 3 is Frankfurt Airport's newest terminal. It is a separate building in the southern part of the airport, a few kilometres from the existing Terminals 1 and 2. Because it sits on its own site rather than next door to the older terminals, Terminal 3 has its own entrances, check-in areas and access roads.

The main thing to remember is that Terminal 3 is not within walking distance of Terminals 1 and 2. It is still part of Frankfurt Airport (airport code FRA), but you should plan your arrival with the extra distance in mind, especially if you are connecting between terminals or heading to the airport's long-distance train station.

Which airlines use Terminal 3?

Terminal 3 is used by a growing list of airlines. Condor is one of the key airlines associated with the new terminal, and more carriers are expected to move over time as the terminal fills up. Because these arrangements can change, we do not publish a fixed airline list here.

Always check your own airline or your boarding pass for the correct terminal before you set off, and confirm the details with Frankfurt Airport if you are unsure. A quick check avoids a last-minute rush between buildings on the day of travel.

How do you get to and from Terminal 3?

Between the terminals

Terminal 3 connects to Terminals 1 and 2 by a shuttle service and by the airport's Sky Line people-mover. These links are designed to move passengers between the buildings, but they can add time to your journey, particularly with luggage or when you are catching a connecting flight. Allow a comfortable buffer and check current transport information with the airport, as times and routes can change.

By train

Frankfurt Airport's train stations, including the long-distance station, are located at Terminal 1. Terminal 3 sits further away in the south of the airport, so reaching a train from Terminal 3 usually means an extra transfer by shuttle or Sky Line first. If you have a lot of bags or a tight schedule, this extra step can be tiring.

By taxi or private transfer

For many travellers, a private door-to-door taxi or transfer is the easiest and least stressful way to and from Terminal 3. There is no changing between shuttles, no dragging suitcases across the airport, and no waiting for connections. Your driver takes you straight from Terminal 3 to your destination, or drops you right at the terminal for your departure. You can book a Terminal 3 taxi in advance and travel on a fixed price.

Distance and orientation

Terminal 3 lies in the southern part of the airport site, a few kilometres from Terminals 1 and 2. If you are used to the older terminals, treat Terminal 3 as a separate destination rather than a short hop from the others. When you book a transfer, simply tell us you need Terminal 3 and we will plan the pickup or drop-off there directly.

Why pre-book a transfer to Terminal 3?

Because Terminal 3 is new and sits further from the main train stations, pre-booking a private transfer takes the guesswork out of your trip. With AT Rides and Tours you get a fixed price with no meter, no surge and no night surcharge, so the fare you see is the fare you pay. Terminal 3 is part of Frankfurt Airport, so our standard fixed fare from Terminal 3 to Frankfurt city centre or the Hauptbahnhof is the same €35 as from the other terminals.
